Freedom of design and process efficiency: Edelmann relies on DM-MAXLINER 3D from LEONHARD KURZ

Fürth/Germany, September 21, 2021: Powerful machines, innovative application software, and resource-saving coatings – as a leading supplier in the field of digital finishing, LEONHARD KURZ designs solutions that are perfectly coordinated with one another. Many well-known packaging industry companies, including the Edelmann Group, already rely on the comprehensive expertise of the specialist for thin-film technologies and digital print finishing. The renowned, internationally active provider of high-quality cardboard and paper packaging solutions for the health care, beauty care, and consumer brands sectors will rely in future on the DM-MAXLINER 3D machine system developed by KURZ subsidiary Steinemann DPE.

Digital finishing redefined

The DM-MAXLINER 3D uses a modular concept with two different finishing units. This means that the customer also receives two finishings in one go: Digital metallization and digital spot coating as a relief with haptic effects. This enables a wide range of finishing – from delicate metallized lettering to spot highlights with a high-gloss surface and large-area images with a texture. The machine performance meets the requirements of the packaging industry and is also suitable for medium and large batch sizes.

Future-oriented positioning thanks to strong partnership

"For more than 100 years, the aim of the Edelmann Group has been to develop innovative and sustainable packaging solutions made from cardboard and paper with the highest quality standards. The DM-MAXLINER 3D sets new standards in terms of design freedom and process efficiency and was the obvious choice for us", explains Wolfram Hahn, Global Business Development Manager at Edelmann. "On the one hand, the system offers almost unlimited finishing options and is therefore ideal for strengthening the future-oriented positioning of our broad product portfolio. Secondly, the technology expands our options for providing packaging materials with sustainable, environmentally friendly effects. We appreciate the fact that, in KURZ, we have a partner at our side who places as much importance on sustainability as we do."

Keeping pace with complete solutions

Over the past few years, KURZ has continuously expanded its portfolio of machine systems in the field of digital finishing and continuously optimized them in close cooperation with its customers. In addition to stand-alone solutions, the company also develops finishing units that can be optimally integrated into existing printing systems. "We are pleased to have Edelmann, a leading packaging manufacturer and system provider, among our customers and that the company is relying on our extensive experience in the field of digital print finishing", explains Jordi Giralt, Sales Manager for Digital Embellishment at KURZ. "We are thus once again successfully proving that we are on the cutting edge with our complete solutions."
